Lancaster, Pa.—Armstrong today announced it will initiate a 4% to 6% priceincrease in the United States and Canada on select vinyl composition tile, commercial sheet vinyl and residential sheet vinyl and vinyl tile, effective on shipments on February 14, 2011.

“We’ve seen sustained increases in oil prices with the economy starting to pull out of recession: This is the foundation driving our costs higher,” said Allen Cubell, vice president, residential sales and marketing. “In addition, significant manufacturing capacity for our raw materials was taken off-line during the recession compounding the problem. Energy, raw materials, and transportation costs are all rising,”
