Floor Trader joins the fight against breast cancer

HomeNewsFloor Trader joins the fight against breast cancer

GULFPORT, MISS.—Floor Trader is asking the community to join the fight against breast cancer and participate in a Facebook campaign aimed at promoting disease prevention and awareness. Mohawk, the world’s largest flooring manufacturer and a leading supplier at Floor Trader flooring, is using Facebook to help raise money for breast cancer research. For every new person who likes the Mohawk Facebook page during the month of October, Mohawk will donate $1 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure on that person’s behalf.

Not only will Mohawk donate $1 to Susan B. Komen for the Cure, but Floor Trader has decided to participate locally and will donate $1 for every new person who likes the Floor Trader Gulf Coast Facebook page.

“October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month and we want to do our part,” explained Keith & Vicki Rhodes, owners of Floor Trader. “We’re a local business that cares about our customers and our community. Partnering with Mohawk just seemed like a fun way we could all work together and make a big difference in the fight against this terrible disease.”

Keith Rhodes says it’s rare to meet someone who hasn’t been touched by cancer in one way or another, and statistics show that’s no exaggeration.

According to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, breast cancer claims at least 40,000 lives annually in the U.S. More than 200,000 American women are diagnosed with the disease each year.

“These are our mothers, daughters, sisters, friends and neighbors,” added Lauren Rhodes- Braden, social marketing director. “With just a few clicks of a computer mouse, you can help us give these women a second chance at life. It really is that easy.”

If you would like Mohawk to donate $1 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure on your behalf, visit Facebook.com/MohawkFlooring and “Like” the Mohawk Facebook page. Also, visit Facebook.com/floortradergulfcoast to and “Like” the Floor Trader Facebook page to have another $1 donated by Floor Trader. Both campaigns end on Monday, Oct. 31.
