Pasadena, Calif. — Measure Square (formerly Floor Covering Soft) will launch an iPad edition of its next generation flooring layout and estimating program for commercial and retail flooring contractors and dealers. This new app will supplement the desktop measure estimating flagship suites MeasureSquare 2013 (formerly FloorEstimate Pro) and will be presented on Jan. 29, 2013 at Surfaces in Las Vegas.

MeasureSquare iPad edition stands out from other competing products with its strength as a full-featured mobile solution for retail flooring, from onsite measure drawing, product selection, and seam and cut sheet layout to generating a quote and collecting customer signature on the spot. The diagram is also synced to a cloud —meaning it can be accessed from anywhere over the web and shared with co-workers.

“We rebrand our company and its core products to MeasureSquare to reiterate our commitment as a key measuring technology provider,” said Dr. Steven Wang, chief developer and company founder. “It is a continuation of our 10 years of measure estimating software products for the flooring industry.” In addition to the iPad edition, MeasureSquare 2013 desktop editions run on Windows 7 and 8, and are widely used by major trades of the flooring industry.

Retail: The 2013 retail edition of the software has enhanced on-site measuring features and improved integration with Laser Disto meters, and is optimized for Windows-based tablets with finger touches. It also interfaces with Quickbooks, easily transferring estimates to the program.

Commercial: Bill Koch, chief estimator at Acousti Engineering, a major flooring contractor with 18 offices in Florida, North Carolina, and Georgia, said, “The 2013 edition is a major enhancement release. We deployed MeasureSquare to all of our branches in 2009, and have capitalized on a long-term relationship with Floor Covering Soft as a commercial estimating solution at the enterprise level.”

Multi-family: “We deployed layout estimating solutions to our regional state offices nationwide four years ago, and have found this enterprise-level estimating solution extremely helpful in managing estimates and diagrams of our cross-state multi-family flooring contracting operations,” said Brian Caress, vice president of Redi Carpet. “This year we will further streamline our bidding proposal generation over the web.”

Lowe’s contractors: “MeasureSquare has helped us streamline measure estimating for 40+ Lowe’s stores from scheduling to diagram layout, and to final Lowe’s ISST estimate sheet generation, saving us lots of time and eliminating many errors over this previously tedious process,” Mark Prudhomme, president of Balance Point in North Carolina, explained. “With this cloud solution, the field estimator, office staff, and store associates can collaborate, saving time between faxes or e-mails back and forth.”

According to Wang, Measure Square has been focusing on making estimating software easier to use and more integrated with clients’ existing IT solutions. The new program can be purchased on demand with affordable monthly subscription. The iPad edition starts at $49/month, an ideal investment for retail flooring.

Special show prices, live demos, and free trial software CDs are available at Booth B3021 at Surfaces 2013.
