West Bloomfield, Mich.—FCICA, the Flooring Contractors Association, is delighted to announce that the Installation Manager Taskforce developed a Purpose Statement for the Certified Installation Manager (CIM) Program at the October Mid-Year meeting. The CIM Purpose Statement is as follows:

The Certified Installation Manager (CIM) Program provides training tools and assessment for qualified professionals within the commercial flooring industry to enhance their core skill set, experience and knowledge base, which are necessary to successfully manage commercial flooring installation projects. Individuals that reach this level of expertise will be easily distinguished by their achievement of the Certified Installation Manager (CIM) designation. Following obtainment of the CIM designation, the program continues by mandating necessary CEU’s to raise our industry’s value and standards of excellence.

“The fact that this group of contractors and manufacturer members are so passionate and dedicated to the CIM Program’s success that they gave several hours of their personal time on a Saturday morning to develop this purpose statement, tells me that the industry is screaming in volume for this type of program to raise the bar for installation managers,” said Bruce Reeve, Installation Manager Taskforce chairman.
