Calhoun, Ga.—Mohawk took top honors among all flooring companies on the 17th annual Training magazine “Top 125” list, placing 66 alongside some of the most highly regarded businesses in the United States. This marks the 11th consecutive year that Mohawk has earned a spot in the “Top 125” rankings compiled by the leading publication for learning and development professionals.

“Our long history of appearing in Training’s ‘Top 125’ reflects the important contributions made by hundreds of trainers throughout Mohawk and reinforces the value they bring to our company and to our customers,” said Becky Redd, corporate learning director for Mohawk Industries. “I am so proud that their outstanding work has been recognized once again.”

The 2017 rankings were unveiled at a black-tie gala on Jan. 30 as part of the annual Training Convention and Expo, held this year in San Diego. In addition to Mohawk, other highly respected companies in the newly announced list included Aetna, Allianz, Anthem, AT&T, CVS Health, General Motors, Mastercard, Nationwide, New York Life, Pacific Gas & Electric, Quicken Loans, Ricoh and Western Union.

The annual list evaluates excellence in employer-sponsored training and development programs across all aspects of the business: manufacturing, logistics, sales, administrative functions, safety and compliance.

“The alignment between corporate training and customer learning programs is unique in the flooring industry as well as most other industries,” said Karen Mendelsohn, Mohawk’s senior vice president of marketing. “Continual learning is the key to success in a highly competitive economy, and Training magazine’s ‘Top 125’ ranking gives retailers total assurance that partnering with Mohawk provides them with industry-leading training.”

One of the programs that sets the company apart from its competition is Mohawk University, a unique course that provides retailers with world-class learning opportunities both online and in the classroom.

“At Mohawk, we are always looking for ways to help our retailers be successful, which is why we have worked so hard to create a top-tier training program in Mohawk University,” Mendelsohn said. “Over the past two decades, Mohawk University has made a name for itself by partnering with industry leaders to provide retailers with the best and most innovative training available.”
