WASHINGTON—As part of its mission to educate the masses on the benefits of green building, the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) Green Home Guide Web site is designed to act as “a community where green home experts come together to help people green their home— homes that use less energy, water and natural resources, create less waste, and are more durable and comfortable for your family.”
Greenhomeguide.com’s features include a Pro Directory where visitors can create their own company profile, show their portfolio of work as well as share their expertise for those looking to green their homes.
The site also features a “Know-how” section, which offers articles, insight and tips to help those wanting to green their homes; an “Ask a Pro” link answers any green home-related question; “Find a Pro” allows visitors to find the most qualified green home pros in their area, and a “Residential Programs” list- ing, which aids those trying to find programs offering green home education and certification.
According to USGBC, joining the organization’s network of green home experts is like “wearing an illustrious name tag. Like you, it never stops working.”
Those interested can create a free listing by visiting greenhomeguide.com/apply.
