Mullican ‘awakening’ with cash-back rewards

JOHNSON CITY, TENN.—All year Mullican Flooring has been celebrating its 25th anniversary and this fall retail salespeople are being given the opportunity to join in the festivities with a sales incentive campaign that gives cash rewards.

The Urban Awakening spiff is open to retail salespeople who sell Mullican floors, allowing them to earn up to 25 cents per square foot on sales of specific

products. Running through Nov. 30, Brian Greenwell, Mullican’s vice president of sales and marketing, said the event dovetails with the company’s recent co-sponsorship of the Urban Oasis Giveaway on the HGTV network (FCNews Aug. 16/23). He noted the incentive involves seven of the wood mill’s most popular collections: St. Andrews, Muirfield, Chatelaine, MeadowView, RidgeCrest, Castillian and Chalmette.

Cash rewards are calculated based on the square footage of product sold. For example, qualifying prefinished solid oak strip products earn 5 cents per square foot, prefinished solid oak planks earn 10 cents per square foot, Meadow View engineered earns 5 cents per square foot, prefinished solid Chatelaine earns 25 cents per square foot and so on.

To earn the money, salespeople need to fill out the official scorecard, listing such information as date of sale, which product was sold, square footage sold and an exact calculation of their own cash rewards. Reward requests must be postmarked by Dec. 17.

“We developed the campaign to potentially bring salespeople some solid cash rewards in the pre-holiday season,” Greenwell concluded.
