ST. LOUIS—At its most recent board meeting, the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) approved the leasing of a new training center in Las Vegas. The new facility will allow the organization to expand its hands-on training opportunities to wood flooring professionals on the West Coast who are unable to travel to the association’s current training facilities here.

NWFA offers more training options for wood flooring professionals than any other flooring organization, noted Ed Korczak, executive director and CEO. “The opening of our new Las Vegas facility is just one more example of NWFA’s continued commitment to advancing the knowledge, skills and success of wood flooring professionals. By maintaining two dedicated facilities, it also allows us to better control costs for each school by having equipment, supplies and systems in place to meet our students’ training needs.”

The Las Vegas facility can accommodate up to 30 students and measures 13,000 total square feet—7,000 of which will be used for training.

Currently, 12 courses are scheduled to be offered at the Las Vegas facility in 2011, the first of which—an advanced installation class—is scheduled for Feb. 2 to 4. Another nine schools will be offered at NWFA’s headquarters in St. Louis, and two schools will be offered in New York City, at the United Brotherhood of Carpenter’s Training Center, 395 Hudson St., New York, N.Y.
