NALFA’s 2011 installer class released

HomeNewsNALFA’s 2011 installer class released

WASHINGTON—One year ago, the North American Laminate Flooring Association (NALFA) launched its Installer Certification School as a way to train and certify the knowledge and professional skill level of laminate installers across the country. The organization recently announced 2011 dates and locations for the popular program.

Bill Dearing, NALFA’s president, said classes will once again be held in California, New Jersey and Georgia with the addition of Seattle, in 2011.

“The NALFA Installer Certification School is nearing its one-year anniversary and is getting rave reviews,” he noted. “Professional laminate installers are learning of the class through outlets such as Facebook and Twitter, and investing in the opportunity to hone their skills and build their clientele.”

Dearing said no changes are expected regarding the curriculum, pointing out it will remain as an “intense two days of instruction that covers all aspects of a quality laminate floor installation.” Classes are kept small (a maximum of six people) to ensure the highest level of attention from the instructors and participation from the students. Hands-on instruction is central throughout the course, allowing participants the opportunity to practice what they learn.

The class is taught by 39-year veteran installer, inspector and consultant Anthony Palandro, who has worked as an installation instructor for flooring distributors, manufacturers and industry associations since 1998.

The cost of the program is $450 ($500 for non-NALFA members) and includes all instructional materials, on- site tools, meals, membership certificate and an ID card.

Upon successful completion of the class, installers earn NALFA certification and membership to the organization for one year. They are listed within the search directory on the nalfa.com website and have unlimited access to NALFA marketing assets to help promote their certification in their new business endeavors.

Certified installers may renew their membership yearly for a cost of $100.

Dates will be listed in the FCNews Events Calendar which appears on page 4 of the publication and under the events tab on the website.
