SAN DIEGO—The University of Ceramic Tile and Stone (UofCTS) announced its appointment as the North American representative for IIEA, International Industry E-learning Academy.   IIEA is an Italian based online training school for businesses based on an advanced e-learning platform.

IIEA is sponsored by ACIMAC, the Italian Ceramic Machinery and Equipment Manufacturers’ Association, a national trade group located near Modena, Italy. In recent years ACIMAC has become a global resource for industry professionals working in the manufacturing goods sector, particularly for the training requirements of ceramic companies all over the world.

IIEA offers diversified training, consisting of courses on general business topics, specialized courses in ceramic manufacturing, and language courses.  The courses are taught in different languages, including English, Spanish, French, Italian, and Arabic.

IIEA currently offers the technical ceramic tile manufacturing courses:  Rheology in Ceramics and Rheology of Ceramic Powders.

General business courses offered by IIEA are: Introduction to Trend Research and Customer Care.

Additional courses that are now in development stages and which will be available in early 2012 are:
• Optimal Production of Porcelain Tile
• Introduction to Digital Decoration
• How to Design Tiles with Digital Technology
• Optimizing Production for Digital Printing
• Introduction to Ceramic Tile Production
• Practical Course on Ceramic Defects
• The New Machinery Directive for Ceramic Machinery Manufacturers
• Web Marketing.

IIEA courses are available online, so there are no travel expenses or lost productivity, and accessible wherever there is a computer with an internet connection. Students can log on 24/7 and can set their own pace. Course certificates are provided upon completion.

Once signed up to take an IIEA course, a user name and password are issued. Most courses are accessible for a period of 2 months, 24/7.  The language courses have different time frames of either 3, 6, or 12 months.
