Verona, Va. –Personna, manufacturer of professional, medical, and industrial blades, continues to implement its growth strategy following a year of change thanks to recent capital infusions from its parent company. Last year, Personna introduced 15 new carpet tools.  The company then ushered in 2012 at the Surfaces floor covering show in Las Vegas, Nevada, by previewing a new line of coated blades, along with the news it was launching a new website, www.personnablades.com.

“The past year generated several exciting opportunities. We are making the largest investment in Personna’s history to deliver the next generation of quality, innovative products that set the industry standard for sharpness and durability,” said Bob Senesac, Vice President, Marketing Industrial/Professional Division.

Innovations such as Personna’s new blades – the most durable ever – and several bladed tools are creating a lot of industry buzz.  The improved blade technology is also being implemented across many of the company’s product lines.

“Our new blades are generating a lot of interest because they are at least 50% more durable and sharper than any blade we’ve ever made.  Customers who have had a sneak preview are excited to see how these blades can improve their precision and productivity.  With an uninterrupted supply chain and readily available products, we’re ready to help them get better results than ever before,” Mr. Senesac continued.

According to company officials, 2012 and 2013 will bring more innovation with the help of industry experts who will serve as technical advisors and provide input in the research and design of Personna’s tool and blade products across all categories.

“We’re looking to move the needle in terms of innovation, blade improvements and new areas of expansion. We already make the best blades for glass processing, carpet, drywall, roofing, food processing, medical and material processing.  Our goal is continuous product improvement across our entire business,” Mr. Senesac said.

With an eye toward the future, Mr. Senesac stressed Personna’s commitment to deliver quality performance and consistency in every blade and tool it makes.  “There are few companies in the world who can say they’ve been around for 135 years.  No matter what the future brings, Personna is here for the long term to provide our customers, distributors and end users with products and tools that give them the best results.”

Personna’s expansion strategy also includes a new website, www.personnablades.com, which offers 24/7 access to products, distributor networks, instructional videos and custom-blade design options.

Personna produces many of its blades in Verona, Virginia, including the Blue Carpet blades, Blue Roofing blades, Coated and Uncoated Single Edge blades (3 facet), Microtome blades, Food Processing blades, Stripping blades (8 inch), Double Edge blades, Textile blades and Fiberglass blades. Hobby blades, Contour blades and all made-to-order shapes will also continue to be produced in the United States, along with all patents and design work.
