Calhoun, Ga. — Mannington Commercial won Best of NeoCon Gold recently, for their Vivendi Collection of carpet.

In 2011, HOK Product Design and Mannington Commercial launched the first product in the Vivendi collection, heterogeneous sheet designed by HOK for healthcare and other high performance projects. The collection, which coordinates with companion families of privacy curtains and upholstery from Pallas Textiles, was the winner of Best of NeoCon Gold and Nightingale Award honorable mention honors.

This year, HOK and Mannington expanded Vivendi into soft surface flooring, with the carpet collection. Designed to perform with low maintenance and high durability, the coordinating carpet, sheet flooring and textile collections bring a “goes, not matches” philosophy in an aesthetic that is suited to today’s healthcare spaces.

“We find that in healthcare in particular, our clients’ brands right now fall into one of three categories – luxury, healthy and calm. Or, at best, a combination of these categories,” said Donald Cremers with HOK, an interior designer and lead product designer of Vivendi. “With the Vivendi Collections, we are striving to provide solutions that might reward patient experience, by transforming healthcare facilities into a luxurious setting of positive distractions, or engage and inspire a patient to participate in a healthy lifestyle, or simply reduce a patient’s stress – creating a balanced, calm and reassuring environment.”

The carpet is a performance product with some tip shear texture, bringing pattern to the foreground. While Vivendi heterogeneous sheet was inspired by the visual softness of textiles, Vivendi carpet is inspired by striated artisan tile, flame-stitched chevrons and fractal geometrics with an organic twist. The visual effect of the patterns is at once timeless and contemporary, bringing interest to the floor without overwhelming other design elements. The palette of thirteen colors draws from wood, soft metals and cool industrial materials, and complementary neutrals.

Antron fiber and Mannington construction unite to create a low maintenance, high durability carpet, engineered to retain the color and texture that set the collection apart. Mannington’s Colorsafe bleach warranty, Xguard stain warranty and other lifetime warranties apply.

The carpet is backed with high recycled content backings, certified by NSI/ANSI as Environmentally Preferable Products. As modular tile, Vivendi is also available backed with rEvolve, Mannington’s vinyl alternative modular backing that includes 40% recycled content (15% postconsumer) and renewable resources.

Mannington Commercial offers a wide range of flooring solutions, all from a single point of contact, so its customers need never compromise between styling, performance, sustainability and customer service. The company’s range of choices that work in carpet and hard surface categories is unparalleled, and its sustainability platform is built upon innovative measures to close the recycling loop, reduce waste streams, reuse waste materials and continue its leadership position in energy efficiency. http://manningtoncommercial.com
