Company’s hardwood, area rug included in nursery for daughter of J.R. Martinez and Diana Gonzalez-Jones

Dalton — Shaw Floors is pleased to announce that its flooring products are featured in a stylish nursery created for the first child of Iraq war veteran, actor, motivational speaker and Dancing with the Stars season 13 champion J.R. Martinez and his partner Diana Gonzalez-Jones. Designed by Little Crown Interiors, a Los Angeles-based design firm dedicated to infant and children’s spaces, Lauryn Anabelle Martinez’s nursery includes Shaw’s Cape Ann hardwood flooring in the color Rockport and Shaw Living’s Posh area rug in Pearl, which work together with the room’s walls and curtains to establish an elegant, lightly colored backdrop within the space. The centerpiece of the nursery is a unique mural that celebrates the arrival of Lauryn Anabelle, who is nicknamed Belle, and honors the memories of the baby’s two namesakes — Diana’s sister Lauren, who passed away earlier this year, and J.R.’s late sister Anabel. The mural depicts the couple’s sisters as angels that watch over little Belle as she sleeps.

“Participating in the creation of this nursery was very special for Shaw because of the room’s poignant meaning for J.R.’s family as well as his connection to Dalton and to our company,” said Kathy Young, marketing director for Shaw Floors. “J.R.’s first job was with Shaw back when he lived here in Dalton, and his mother also was a Shaw associate for many years. Both our family

of Shaw associates and the entire Dalton community are extremely proud of J.R., and it’s a privilege to have our made-in-the-USA flooring in the home of such a heroic individual — we’re so pleased to be able to call him one of our own.”

“When designing Belle’s nursery we wanted items that would create an elegant room for our first born while also creating a stylish room we would enjoy being in with her,” said Martinez. “Having worked at Shaw and grown up in Dalton, the Shaw brand is very representative of my past, and the decision to use Shaw products in the nursery made a lot of sense. The flooring allowed us to bring a bit of Dalton to California, and it succeeded in enhancing the beauty of the space.”

Because J.R. is a favorite personality of the entertainment media, it’s not surprising that both Belle and her nursery have already been featured in magazines, such as People and In Touch Weekly, and on the syndicated television shows Entertainment Tonight and Bethenny.
