CHICAGO—Striations BioBased Tile from Armstrong Commercial took top honors, winning Architect’s Choice and Best in Show at the 2012 Symposium Distinction Awards, sponsored by FacilityCare Magazine. The awards were presented during the Healthcare Facilities Symposium & Expo held Oct. 2 to 4.

“Striations demonstrated real innovation,” said Jenabeth Ferguson, event director, Healthcare Facilities Symposium & Expo.

BioStride, Striations’ polymer, is made from rapidly renewable, U.S.-grown plant materials. “Striations is eco-sound, economical and ideal for healthcare. It works well in hospitality, education, office and retail interiors,” noted Julianne Pierce, Armstrong’s director of commercial marketing and product design.

She added Striations “has twice the indent resistance and more than five times greater impact resistance of standard composition tile.

“We’re delighted to receive these prestigious honors,” said Pierce. “It’s reflective of the opinions of the members of the healthcare industry who chose Armstrong for its commitment to value, durability and design.”
