Titusville, Pa.  – HomerWood is channeling its design expertise and first-class, quality manufacturing into a product initiative to strengthen its brand and grow business for its distribution and retailer partners. Known for pioneering Character Grade, creating custom colors and authentic handscrapes, HomerWood is bringing a refreshed, new portfolio to retail.

From classic to contemporary designs, HomerWood has carefully selected 54 premium visuals in a range of colors, styles, textures and surface treatments to fit both residential and commercial interiors.

“We saw a huge opportunity to offer customers a range of floors to make the line more complete and relevant. We have an array of styles and colors that cover all tastes. That’s a new initiative for HomerWood – we’re blending the best of our traditional, hand-crafted looks with exceptional, custom designs to offer a truly spectacular portfolio of options,” explains Paul Walker, general manager, HomerWood.

“I believe that in business you should constantly strive to improve and sometimes you need to take a step back and say, ‘what can we do better?’ I have spent the past several months traveling to meet with each of our distribution partners, listening to their needs and finding out what we can do to be a better partner so we all can enjoy growth and mutual success with the HomerWood brand,” says Walker. “We are first and always a customer-focused company that values and appreciates our partnerships with all stakeholders.

“Retailers report intense focus on turning every store visitor into a buyer,” says Walker. “Their request to manufacturers: ‘Give me products that make it easier to attract consumers, at prices that enable me to close the deal’. Sounds simple, until you attempt to answer that question for retailers across the entire nation. HomerWood has a great track record for responding to difficult market challenges in ways that create success for our company and our distributor and retail partners.”

HomerWood has pioneered many innovations in the hardwood flooring industry, including its exclusive Character Grade, Amish Hand-Scraped, and Smoked Specialties flooring. Its all-encompassing line now includes traditional, smooth faced classics to character looks that embody a balance of nature and craft, to texture rich, contemporary designs.

“Remember, hardwood is still the preferred flooring choice of most flooring consumers,” says Walker. “For new home buyers and for those embarking on remodeling projects, hardwood is the trophy flooring.”

Providing a flexible showcase tailored to the market

The new HomerWood merchandising display highlights the beauty of the product, and makes the floor – not the display – the star. With a capacity of 35 large-format sample boards, customers have the option of tailoring the new display to suit, incorporating selections from clean and smooth classics to traditional Amish handscraped to Rift and Quartered.

“When we selected the 54 visuals, we created a new merchandiser that that will hold 35 SKUs so that our distribution partners have the opportunity to customize the product mix to their specific market and present customers with a focused selection of choices,” says Walker.

Walker adds that if the distributor likes the color of a wood but wants it handscraped, for example, the company will add that in for that distributor. “We want to provide that flexibility and help our distributors to be successful,” says Walker.

HomerWood previewed its new merchandising and premium product line-up to its distribution partners and received an overwhelmingly positive response, which has translated into significant orders for the new merchandising display, according to the company.

The company focuses on its made in America brand identity and wants the display to highlight the hardwood product itself.  HomerWood’s hardwood products are manufactured using wood sourced locally from the Appalachian mountain region. Situated in the heart of the Appalachian mountain region, HomerWood strategically sources lumber from only those who conscientiously harvest trees. The company includes back labels on the wood panels in the display unit with relevant information and directs the consumer to the HomerWood website for additional information.
