Home Press Release Aspecta by Metroflor launches free recycling initiative

Norwalk, Conn. — Aspecta, the new LVT brand from Metroflor Corp, has launched a free one-call reclamation service as part of its commitment to being as sustainable as possible: the Revise Program. This process now enables contractors to return installation cuttings or replaced vinyl flooring to the company to be recycled.

Depending on current demand from the factories, reclaimed content will either be utilized for backing material in other Metroflor branded products, or it may be processed into car, boot, or floor mats, for example.

There is a simple procedure for contractors to follow, with Metroflor overseeing all the logistics. Potentially, any vinyl flooring removed as part of the installation process can be included but if it is a non-Metroflor product, it will need to be tested in advance. Products with too much filler, or hazardous content or adhesive, may not be eligible and it is the contractor’s responsibility to keep the recycled content clear of foreign debris.

Harlan Stone, Global Chairman and CEO of Aspecta, said: “We are totally committed to being as respectful to the environment as we possibly can with principles of responsible sourcing, saving water and energy, reducing emissions, and recycling embedded into the entire business. The one-call reclamation process is the latest initiative, and we expect to have more good news later in the fall.”

External endorsement for Aspecta’s practices came in June when the brand was awarded Platinum level NSF 332 certification in Sustainability for Resilient Flooring.
