New York—The architectural and design community has voted Human Nature—the latest global carpet tile collection from Interface—Best of Year in Interior Design magazine’s annual awards program.
A new skinny plank series inspired by Mother Nature’s most elemental surfaces, Human Nature brings biophilic inspiration to commercial interiors of all types. Human Nature took home the competition’s signature light bulb trophy in the Flooring: Carpet/Modular category. Winners were announced on Dec. 4 at a ceremony at New York’s iconic IAC Building attended by nearly 1,000 A&D professionals, manufacturers and design enthusiasts.
The Best of Year Awards program invites architects and designers to vote for their favorite residential and contract products and projects. This year, Interior Design received more than 2,000 submissions in 78 product categories, with the design community casting more than 60,000 online votes for finalists during a two-week period in October. A jury of top architects and designers selected winners from among these finalists.
“We are so honored by the community’s recognition,” said Chip DeGrace, Interface executive creative director. “Interface strives to make products that support the needs of architects and designers, and to help them create spaces that will inspire great work and big ideas from end users. We believe that carpet tile can be much more than a floor covering, and are so proud to find that we’re not alone in this kind of beautiful thinking.”
