Calhoun, Ga.—Mohawk Group, a leading commercial flooring company known for cutting-edge and innovative flooring solutions, announced today that the company’s flooring products and fiber technology captured three Interior Design magazine’s Best of Year Awards. Awards were received in a range of categories including the Carpet/Flooring Rugs, Healthcare Flooring and Innovative New Stain Resistance Treatment/Product. Held annually, Interior Design magazine’s Best of Year Awards recognizes the best in contract interiors for products and projects. This year marked Interior Design’s 9th Best of Year Awards and was held at Frank Gehry’s IAC Building in New York City.

“We’re focused on building a collection of products that are high-performing and meet the aesthetic requirements of today’s demands,” said Jackie Dettmar, vice president of product development and design. “Interior Design’s Best of Year Awards is validation of our product design initiative, and we’re extremely honored to be recognized by the architects and designers of our industry for the passion that goes into these products.”

This year Mohawk Group products were finalists in five flooring and innovation categories, capturing a total of three awards and two honorable mentions. Durkan’s Anastasia collection was the winner in Carpet/Flooring Rugs; Global Entry, Mohawk’s heavy commercial luxury vinyl tile (LVT), was the winner in Healthcare Flooring; and Mohawk’s DuraColor Premium Nylon carpet fiber won in Innovative New Stain Resistance Treatment/Product. In addition, Mohawk received honorable mentions for New Vintage in the Flooring Carpet/Modular category and Simply Tailored for the Carpet/Broadloom category.

Best of Year product design finalists were selected by interior designers and architects via an online vote, and finalists were posted prior to the awards event. Interior Design’s editor-in-chief, Cindy Allen and a jury of design leaders selected all winners. Product and project winners were announced at the event in New York City. Winners will be featured in the December issue of Interior Design.
