Moldings and trim are often the last piece of the puzzle when it comes to flooring, and from a consumer standpoint it can be difficult to find accessories that are the perfect match. That’s why Versatrim makes its products easy to coordinate, easy to order and easy to sell. Versatrim offers laminate molding solutions to match virtually any laminate floor, as well as two new profiles for luxury vinyl tile (LVT).
As one of the leading manufacturers of laminate moldings in North America, Versatrim carries options in eleven different profiles including T-moldings, reducers, end caps, stair nose, wall base, colonial base, base shoe and quarter round.
Versatrim also offers molding solutions to accommodate applications for engineered wood and solid wood. In addition, the company developed two new profiles for LVT, SlimTrim and VersaEdge, in response to the industry’s increasing demand for luxury vinyl in recent years.
“We are now able to offer custom match for any LVT or laminate floors with minimal commitment,” said Tina Keeton Emery, sales manager at Versatrim. “SlimTrim and VersaEdge will work with all LVT and laminate applications with any height difference up to ¾ inch.”
Steve Flanagan, product manager at Jaeckle Distributors, explained the benefits of SlimTrim, a moisture-resistant, three-in-one PVC molding that functions as a reducer, t-molding and end cap. “One piece can do the job of three different moldings. That means less pieces for the installer to take to the job and our inventory levels are better controlled.”
VersaEdge, which is also moisture-resistant PVC, is used for stairs one-inch tall. It is also available in extra tall with an aluminum core for orders with a minimum of 30 pieces.
Another feature that separates Versatrim from its competitors is its Custom Color Match option, which allows retailers to order custom moldings to match any laminate, wood or LVT floor.
Since all of its moldings are made in the U.S., Versatrim offers a same-day shipping policy in which all standard-priced orders will ship the same day if ordered by noon Eastern Time. “Generally trims are the last things our customers think of,” said Jim Kups, technical support manager at Novalis Innovative Flooring. “You get a lot of, ‘Oh God, I forgot to order trims for this,’ so when you get it quickly like that it’s just a huge benefit.”
As a carrier of moldings from various manufacturers, Angel Llerena, sales manager at Century Flooring Distributors, said Versatrim’s same-day shipping policy has put his mind at ease. “If you run out of product from China, you won’t get it for another few months, whereas with Versatrim you’ll have it in just a few days. When you promise a customer you’re going to have something in X amount of time it has to happen, and with Versatrim it does.”
Aside from providing its customers with quality products, Versatrim makes it a priority to assist with marketing, whether it’s creating sample chains or supplying display boards. “Marketing is up to us,” Kups said, “but Versatrim has a great design department and they helped us with sample chains and color books. We tell them what we want and how we want it to look and they make it work.”
