Forney, Texas—Certified Floorcovering Installers Association’s (CFI) relationship with Shanghai Chemical Building Materials Trade Association has expanded, according to Robert Varden, vice president, CFI. Through the partnership, CFI’s presence, as well as its awareness building program in China has continued to grow and gain traction.
Following its successful launch, CFI-China was given the opportunity to showcase at Domotex: Asia with Kali Carpet, one of their key partners in China. Guests of the show stopped by to learn about and hear Robert Varden discuss attributes, accomplishments and the overall mission of the CFI-China division. The mission statement shared with attendees follows: To identify, train and certify flooring installers according to skill and knowledge and to provide the flooring industry with educational programs that enhance the ultimate goal of customer satisfaction.
In addition to promoting CFI-China at Domotex: Asia, Varden was also invited by Kevin Guo, global business manager of Xiangsen Corp. – Carpet Installation Solutions, a local distributor of tools in China, to hold demonstrations and test new tools at the company’s booth during the show.
In addition to its presence at Domotex: Asia, CFI-China kicked off 2018 with several highly successful certification and training courses, including: Moisture Sub Floor Prep, Carpet Commercial-I and Commercial-II and Carpet Repair and Re-Stretch. Following the initial training programs, CFI-China held its very first Certification Course for Carpet Commercial-I and Commercial-II. Later this month CFI-China will release their Q3 and Q4 expanded training and certification calendars.
“Residents of Shanghai have eagerly embraced the CFI led trainings and certifications in the areas of carpet, hardwood/laminate, ceramic and resilient,” Varden said. “Through our strategic partnerships we are confident the CFI footprint will continue to expand and thrive in the Asian marketplace. Together we will raise the standards across the globe and expand awareness about the importance of using certified installers.”
