Dalton—Dalton Carpet One and DCO Commercial Floors collected $6,030 from employees and a dollar-for-dollar company match to donate to local organizations. Employees also donated items for its adopted family through Open Hearts Center in Athens, Ga.

“The generosity our employees have shown toward their communities is truly outstanding this season,” said JR Allred, president of Dalton Carpet One. “DCO has such impressive employees, and we are proud to work with such wonderful people.”

According to the company, it started out with adopting a family through the Joyce Ervin Open Hearts Center. “We collected and purchased each item the family requested,” said Adrienne Dean, public relations manager. “We know this family will appreciate it greatly.”

Athens resident Joyce Ervin and her family run Open Hearts Center out of their home, providing clothing and personal items to people in need. Ervin provided a list of needed items that DCO employees fulfilled.

Even though 2020 was a tough year for everyone, DCO said it still feels blessed. Sharing these blessings with the local communities is its way of spreading positivity and joy, the company said. It kepts the momentum going with monetary donations in the amount of $3,015 from its 215 employees. DCO matched this dollar amount for a total of $6,030 going straight into local communities for each of our office locations.

DCO focused the donation on children, youth and family this season. Following is a list of organizations where DCO donated monetary funds, on top of the items selected for the adopted family:
