The passport is accessed by scanning the QR code on the back of planks of Novalis flooring. According to Novalis, it provides information about product attributes including recyclability, contents, embodied carbon, TVOCs, certifications, technical data and more.

According to Novalis, engraving its flooring with QR codes that link to digital product passports, Novalis is facilitating easy end-of-life identification of product contents and pioneering the recycling pathways of the future.

This passport gives viewers a look at the contents and attributes of AVA VRSE, a commercial loose lay LVT product with a unique, multi-directional design that can be installed in a variety of patterns. The company said the product passport is powered by Origin, one of the world’s largest online databases of digital materials.
