Waregem, Belgium—Unilin Technologies and Pelican Creations Home entered into a joint licensing agreement to bring a new patent-pending Comfort Core Technology to the flooring market. The technology is designed to put a comfort-first feel by integrating a soft comfort layer between layers of resilient products in order to upgrade walking comfort while also improving the ergonomics and sound characteristics of the floor.

“Pelican Creations Home is thrilled to be partnering with Unilin Technologies who has a long-standing reputation for quality and innovation,” said Mike Poulin, founder. “We at Pelican Creations Home and Unilin Technologies are confident that the Comfort Core Technology will revolutionize the flooring industry.”

The Comfort Core technology will be available for licensing by Unilin Technologies. “We are excited to partner with Pelican for this innovative core technology,” said Floris Koopmans, sales director IP at Unilin Technologies. “They will be implementing this technology in their products as the very first mover worldwide. Therefore, products with Comfort Core Technology will become available on the market very soon. Thanks to this IP partnership other flooring companies will also be able to start implementing this ergonomic technology into their resilient products.”

Unilin Technologies will unveil the technology at The International Surface Event, held here Feb. 1-3, 2022, at booth 6317.
