Dalton—The Floor Covering Education Foundation (FCEF), a member company of The World Floor Covering Association (WFCA), is celebrating today, National Skilled Trades Day, with a “Day of Giving.” The organization’s first annual day-long fundraising campaign encourages industry members across disciplines—suppliers, retailers, installers, etc.—to donate to the organization to support its efforts to end the installation crisis.
The event purposefully coincides with National Skilled Trades Day to bring awareness to flooring installation as a skilled trade. National Skilled Trades Day was established in 2019 by City Machine Technologies in Youngstown, Ohio, to raise awareness about the value of the skilled trades workforce in the United States and honor skilled trades workers.
The all-day event will include the FCEF team live streaming, allowing you to join at your convenience. A line up of industry executives and special guests will join the FCEF team throughout the day. The FCEF has a dedicated online donation portal where it will be monitoring contributions throughout the day as the team works toward their fundraising goal.
“We’d love to see all manufacturers, distributors, buying groups and independents use this day to promote support of the FCEF within their organizations,” said Kaye Whitener, director of operations, FCEF. “Perhaps challenges are made across competitive lines on who can raise the most support for this very important initiative.”
