Charlotte, N.C.—Effective May 23, or as contracts allow, BASF will increase its prices for all Butonal and Butofan styrene-butadiene high and medium solids latex products by $.16 per wet pound in the United States and Canada. The aforementioned products are used as ingredients for various applications in the adhesives, carpet, construction, fiber bonding, automotive and foam markets.

Manufacturing executives say this action is necessary as a result of rising energy costs and significant increases in costs for raw materials such as butadiene and styrene.
