Shaw strengthens HGTV partnership

HomeNewsShaw strengthens HGTV partnership

DALTON—Fresh off its sponsorship of HGTV’s Green Home Giveaway for the fourth consecutive year, Shaw Industries announced its participation in the second annual HGTV Urban Oasis Giveaway.

This year’s Urban Oasis is a modern, custom-built residence located on the 35th floor of the Trump International Hotel & Tower in Chicago. The 1,000-square-foot space is being designed by HGTV’s popular interior designer Vern Yip, who said he will decorate the residence by “combining antiques and architectural artifacts with contemporary elements that reflect Chicago’s essence.”

The residence, which includes one bedroom, 11⁄2 baths, a gourmet kitchen and “breathtaking views” of the Chicago skyline, will be completely furnished with, among other things, products from the new HGTV Home Flooring by Shaw.

Kathy Young, director of marketing for Shaw Floors, said “We’ve enjoyed four years of sponsorship as the exclusive flooring provider of the HGTV Green Home (FCNews, May 30/June 6), and we’re delighted to feature the new HGTV Home Flooring products in the setting of high design from the premier Trump brand.”

Among the flooring products in the HGTV Home collection that will be used to decorate the Urban Oasis project are Campbell, a 5-inch engineered hardwood, which will be installed in the living room; Mixed Up mosaic slate in a backsplash in the kitchen and on the walls of the powder room; Domus floor tile in the master bathroom; and several cut-and- bound rugs made from carpet styles manufactured by the mill’s Tuftex division in California. The Tuftex styles include Snap Shot in the living room and bedroom sitting area and High Style Text in the bedroom.

Young added projects such as Urban Oasis and the Green Home “help consumers visualize Shaw in their homes when they experience the beauty of our flooring in inspirational settings like these on such a powerhouse network.”

The Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago opened its doors in January 2008. The 92-story property is the tallest residential building in North America, offering 486 luxury residences and 339 hotel condominiums. Located on floors 29 through 89, residential condominiums range in size from approximately 580 to 14,000 square-feet and include studios, one- to three-bedroom plans, and four-bedroom penthouses. Homes feature floor-to-ceiling windows, gourmet kitchens, custom baths, and state-of-the-art appliances, with prices starting in the $400,000 range.

The HGTV Urban Oasis will be given away in December. Start entering on Aug. 18 online at HGTV.com or HGTV’s FrontDoor.com for a chance to win.
