Calhoun, Ga.—Mohawk’s Air.o was recently named a finalist for the 2020 Edison Awards in the consumer goods – home solutions category.

“The Edison Awards have long recognized the best innovators and innovations, and we are honored to be among the finalists this year,” said Jamie Welborn, vice president of product management. “As the only manufacturer that has responded to the growing demand for hypoallergenic soft flooring, we are proud to offer a solution to families with Air.o. We could not be a finalist without the hard work and dedication of our product, manufacturing, marketing and sales teams along with our retail partners that have helped throughout this journey.”

Air.o’s unique, unified construction does not absorb any moisture, inhibiting the growth of allergens such as mold, mildew and dust mites. This construction simplifies the installation process and provides 50% more airflow when vacuumed, making it easy to clean by releasing more dust, dirt and pet dander. Air.o is also VOC free and latex-free with no new carpet smell.

“Even though Air.o is the only one of its kind in market today, it’s imperative to us that we continue expanding what we offer,” explained Angela Duke, director of brand marketing. “That’s why we made sure that our 2020 introductions rounded out the Air.o assortment and provided more options, more price points and more weights. Plus, we’ve added third-party certifications that illustrate Mohawk’s leadership in product transparency and commitment to manufacturing products that help contribute to healthy spaces.”

Air.o recently achieved rigorous Declare Red List-free status certification from the International Living Future Institute (ILFI), as well as a Health Product Declaration (HPD) from the Health Product Declaration Collaborative.
