DUBAI—Today’s Opening Ceremony marks the start of Domotex Middle East, the region’s annual showpiece event, dedicated to the floor covering industry. The exhibition, taking place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from Sept. 12 to 14, opened its doors to visitors this morning.
Ribbon cutting at the ceremony was performed by HE Abdul Rahman Al Owais, UAE Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Affairs, marking the six-year anniversary of Domotex Middle East.
This year over 5,000 visitors from around 75 countries are expected to attend the show. Domotex Middle East expects to attract flooring professionals, wholesalers and retailers, decision-makers from the construction industry, architects, interior designers, project planners, developers, and high net worth individual buyers.
“Sustained investment in construction and infrastructure projects means that the Middle East is a key market for the floor covering industry,” said Angela Schaschen, managing director of Deutsche Messe Dubai Branch, the organizer of Domotex Middle East. “The region is also incredibly diverse in its flooring needs; requirements range from practical, low cost, simple designs to high-end luxury products that might be used in palaces or five star hotels. Over 140 exhibitors from over 30 countries will showcase a wide range of floor covering products, from hand-made and machine-made rugs and carpets to parquet and other wood flooring to natural stone and marble, and many more.
