KITCHENER, ONTARIO, CANADA— Dick Dychuck, longtime executive vice president of Canadian distributor Goodfellow and credited with building the Ontario and Western markets, passed away July 26 following a short fight with cancer. He was 68.
“Dick has left a lasting impact with all who knew him, most of whom would consider themselves his extended family,” said Mike Gagne, principal of Gagne Global Sourcing, who worked with DyChuck for 15 years at Goodfellow. “He was an outstanding individual who possessed leadership, people skills, compassion and vision.
“Throughout his professional life, which culminated in his role as executive vice president at Goodfellow, as well as his personal life that included many volunteer leadership roles, he touched the lives of many people and lives on in their memories.”
Before joining Goodfellow, Dychuck had worked for Fletcher Challenge, a New Zealand-owned forest products company.
Dychuck is survived by his wife, Mary; two sons, Donald and David; daughter, Mary Anne; four grandchildren, and four sisters.
