BOSTON—When it comes to providing outstanding customer service and a large selection of merchandise, building and design experts in the greater Boston area said no one does it better than Dover Rug & Home. The New England retailer, which operates two stores in Natick and Hanover, Mass., was honored as the “Best of Boston Home 2011” in the transitional design category by Boston Home, sister publication of the venerable Boston Magazine.

In making the announcement, Boston Home stated, “Dover’s selection of rugs alone puts the shop on par with Boston’s finest carpet retailers; customer service brings it a notch above. Owner Mahmud Jafri makes it his mission to equip visitors with a working knowledge of rug styles, weaving techniques and qualities. First-time callers may find themselves enthralled by a brief history of rug making as Jafri and his staff help them sift through design options and identify that perfect heirloom-worthy piece.”

Along with Dover’s in-store excellence, the company helps sponsor more than 50 charitable organizations a year. It’s community involvement has helped the World Floor Covering Association retailer receive the Community Newspaper Co.’s Reader’s Choice award for Best Carpet Store 10 years in a row and was previously nominated for the Retailer of the Year Award.

“It is truly an honor to be recognized as the ‘Best of’ for Boston Home,” Jafri said. “We have always been proud of the extensive and unique collection we are able to offer our customers. But just as importantly, we are committed to providing the best service to every- one who walks through our showroom door. Our job is not to only offer the finest floor covering options available, but to make our customers’ experience a pleasant one.”
