Dalton, Ga. — Officials at Engineered Floors of Dalton, Georgia announced the completed acquisition of Dream Weaver Carpet Industries of Chatsworth, Georgia. Engineered Floors produces and markets carpets primarily to the multi-family segment under the Engineered Floors brand. The company also is the exclusive manufacturer of PureColor fiber, the proprietary solution-dyed PET fiber system that has enjoyed 400% growth over the last three years. Dream Weaver produces high-quality residential carpets made with PureColor fiber and sells through independent retailers, new home construction flooring contractors and wholesale distribution. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed and there are no immediate staffing changes as a result.

“We are excited to have Dream Weaver Carpets become part of the Engineered Floors organization,” said Robert E. Shaw, Chairman and CEO of Engineered Floors. “Melvin Silvers (founder of Dream Weaver Carpets) has built a solid company and features a great collection of carpets using our PureColor fiber.” Shaw added, “By combining resources, we can accelerate their growth and help maximize our production efficiencies.” Engineered Floors operates a state-of-the-art fiber and carpet operation in Calhoun, Georgia and will increase capacity by beginning operations at a second, new facility in early 2012. Dream Weaver Carpets will continue operations in Chatsworth, Georgia and will continue marketing under the brand name “Dream Weaver Carpets.” The brand will exhibit at Surfaces 2012 in January, booth #S5739.
