Shaw sponsors 2012 St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway

HomeNewsShaw sponsors 2012 St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway

Dalton – Shaw Industries, recently announced a national sponsorship of the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway, a fundraising campaign that has raised more than $220 million in over 20 years for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, one of the world’s premier centers for the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other deadly childhood diseases.

As the program’s exclusive flooring sponsor, Shaw will donate flooring to approximately 30 new homes across the country, all built and promoted utilizing donated time and resources by premier builders, installers, subcontractors and vendors throughout the U.S. Consumers can reserve $100 tickets for a chance to win their local Dream Home, knowing that all of the proceeds go to help St. Jude. Shaw has signed on to become the second national sponsor, joining Brizo, a luxury brand of faucets, in raising funds for children’s cancer research and other deadly diseases.

“Shaw believes that our brand essence and particularly our floors are a perfect fit for the St. Jude Dream Home program, where they will touch the lives of so many families,” said Randy Merritt, president of Shaw Floors. “There will be opportunity for local Shaw retailers throughout the U.S. to participate. This is a very exciting partnership for us, and we are pleased to be joining the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway family and Brizo in continuing to change how the world treats children with cancer and other deadly diseases.”

The partnership includes a commitment by Shaw and the company’s brands, Tuftex Carpets of California and Anderson Hardwood, to provide a variety of flooring products, including its premier carpet, hardwood, laminate, tile & stone, resilient floors and area rugs. The floors will be featured in homes across the U.S., which are valued between $300,000 to $700,000. Shaw’s local retailers will partner with the St. Jude Dream Home team to choose stunning, design-inspired floors and engage in local promotion and education about the St. Jude Dream Home program.

“The commitment that Shaw Floors is making to this program and the families of St. Jude during this challenging economic climate speaks volumes about the spirit and culture of their organization,” said Alan Johnson, director of the Dream Home program at ALSAC, the fundraising organization for St. Jude.

This new partnership complements Shaw’s ongoing objective of producing innovative and durable floors backed by a commitment to social responsibility measures that foster community growth and progress in the U.S.

“Shaw produces beautiful quality floors, and it is our honor and responsibility to ensure that purchases go toward improving the lives of our employees and customer base,” said Kathy Young, director of marketing for Shaw Floors. “Our decision to sign on with the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway program furthers our commitment to corporate and community responsibility. It is about doing the right thing.”

In late February, Shaw Marketing will introduce a St. Jude Dream Home tab hosted on shawadvantage.com for involved retailers, builders and designers to explore more information about the sponsorship, view a product catalog, place orders and access marketing materials.
