Marietta, Ga.—Mohawk is committed to providing its customers with best-in-class innovation and products through exceptional leadership.  The company’s dedication to that mission has resulted in welcoming back flooring industry and Mohawk veteran, David Holt, as the new Senior Vice President of Sales, Builder/Multi-Family. Holt will be responsible for driving positive sales growth for these key business units through his strategic leadership.

“David is a seasoned industry leader who will offer new insights for the Builder/Multi-Family division,” said Tom Lape, President of Residential and Commercial at Mohawk. “David brings to Mohawk an entrepreneurial spirit that will benefit all of our partners in the Builder and Multi-Family markets.  He joins a strong team already in place at Mohawk in this channel.  I expect David to use the same energy and passion at Mohawk that he used to take Applied Thermoplastic Resources (ATR), a company he founded in 1997, from an idea into a $100 million-dollar-plus enterprise in his 15 years of stewardship.  We are proud to have him join the Mohawk team.”

An industry veteran of over 30 years, Holt gained experience in fiber technologies and sales with Allied Chemical before joining Mohawk in the mid-1980s, where he held several leadership roles in sales and marketing. Later, Holt became CEO of WundaWeve Carpet Mills.  Since 1997, David has been CEO of ATR, a producer of recycled polymers and compounds serving the floorcovering and injection molding industries.  ATR was recognized in 2012 as Georgia’s small business of the year.

“I am delighted to rejoin Mohawk and am excited about the team I’m joining. This was the right time for me to re-enter the carpet industry and I could not be happier about the opportunities that lie ahead in this critical market segment,” said Holt.
