Burns, Tenn.—American OEM has expanded its Hearthwood distribution group to Orlando, Fla.-based Compass Flooring Distributors. This is the latest distributor to take on the company’s brand, representing Hearthwood in the Florida and Texas markets.
“Hearthwood is very personal for us, and so we choose our partners carefully,” said Allie Finkell, creator and EVP of Hearthwood. “The team at Compass is well-versed in selling high-end, design-leading hardwoods, and we feel confident they will do a great job representing our flagship brand.”
Compass was founded in 2010 and has warehouses in Orlando and Houston, holding inventory on hardwood and resilient flooring products. “Partnering with Hearthwood will be a great collaboration for both Compass and Hearthwood,” said Kelley Wilson, Compass president. “We share a strong commitment to premium products positioned with the very best retailers throughout the southeast. The fashion-forward styling of the Hearthwood collections being promoted by our experienced sales team and managed by the Compass customer service team is a great combination for success.”
The Hearthwood collection is comprised of 24 engineered hardwoods, made at the American OEM facility outside of Nashville from 100% American hardwoods. The company’s flagship brand continues the four-generation legacy started by Andy Anderson, the inventor of the American engineered wood floor in the 1940s.
“Hearthwood is a way to honor our family’s 70-plus year history in the wood business,” Finkell said. “It leverages the vast experience of our past but is packaged in a modern way that appeals to a younger, predominately female demographic. We’re not completely finished setting up our national distribution network and are excited to continue planting seeds for growth.”
Hearthwood is showing at the NWFA Expo in Tampa, Fla., this week at booth 801. It is positioned close to the Compass exhibition space at booth 800.
