HomeCOVID-19FCNews launches ‘Retail Recovery Across America’ video series

By Steven Feldman

FCNews will launch its “Retail Recovery Across America” video series on June 15.

Floor covering retail is bouncing back from the early spring slowdown caused by COVID-19, and FCNews will be on the front lines to report on it with the official launch of FCNews’ “Retail Recovery Across America” video series.

In what has to be considered an industry first, FCNews will be hitting the road throughout the spring and summer to visit floor covering retailers—large and small—across the United States to prove the strength of our industry as state economies reopen and consumers return to purchase mode.

The idea is to shoot a series of at least 50 videos on location with store owners and/or managers to not only convey the positivity the industry is experiencing now—and expecting during the third and fourth quarters—but also provide useful tips for retailers to navigate through this recovery from their peers.

The motivation behind this video series is threefold:

To provide confidence throughout this industry that there is pent-up demand and consumers are walking into retail stores with intent to purchase like never before.

To get retailers to share some of the strategies they are employing to get consumers back in their stores—marketing, advertising, sales, terms, other incentives, etc.—and how they are conveying the fact they offer a safe shopping experience. They will also be sharing their experiences with today’s customer. For example, many have already told FCNews their closing rates are higher today because customers are shopping fewer stores and not just “kicking the tires,” so to speak.

To allow retailers to communicate to their peers who the manufacturing partners are that have stepped up over these last few months and continue to provide value and support—and to give retailers a strategy for onboarding new vendors.

FCNews will post one new video from the series on our website several times a week, beginning June 15. The series will also be promoted through our social media platforms and sent to our 12,000-plus FCNewsletter subscription base.

In the end, it’s a win-win for all: FCNews readers learn strategies from their peers, and flooring manufacturers get positive exposure through these videos as retailers talk about the value they provide.
