Dalton—The Floor Covering Education Foundation (FCEF), a nonprofit organization dedicated to the recruitment, scholarship and placement of professional floor covering installers, made changes to its board of directors and leadership team. At the organization’s February 18 board meeting, Don Roberts was appointed as board chair, Piet Dossche was added to its board, and it welcomed Jim Aaron as its executive director.
The group said Aaron was selected after a diligent and thorough search that included numerous, highly qualified professionals from across the nation. He comes to FCEF after serving as the vice president of merchandising for Carpet One Floor & Home and will succeed interim director Steve Abernathy, who will serve on the board and as chairman of the scholarship committee.
Roberts, who joined the FCEF board in 2019, succeeds Scott Humphrey, president and CEO of the World Floor Covering Association (WFCA). Humphrey served as chairman since the inception of the organization in 2019 and will remain on the board. The appointment of Piet Dossche brings the total number of board members to fifteen. The FCEF board of directors is comprised of industry professionals representing a broad spectrum of interests in the floor covering industry.
“I appreciate the board’s confidence in me, and I’m delighted to have the opportunity to lead such a great organization,” Aaron said. “With this strong and experienced leadership team, we are well positioned to achieve our vision of being a unifying voice as we create an industry-wide, permanent solution to solve the installation crisis. Together, we have an exciting journey ahead.”
The organization also announced the selection of Bill Gaddis to its executive committee and the promotion of Kaye Whitener to national manager.
