new pathCartersville, Ga.—Shaw Contract launched New Path, its first carbon neutral carpet tile collection constructed on the company’s StrataWorx backing. Utilizing EcoSolution Q100 fiber technology in its construction, New Path achieves the lowest embodied carbon footprint of any Shaw Contract carpet tile collection released to date.

“This launch not only demonstrates our commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of our products but also our commitment to helping our customers and end users meet their own sustainability goals,” said Jeff West, vice president of marketing. “New Path offers a carbon neutral option at an affordable price point.”

New Path utilizes Shaw’s EcoSolution Q100 fiber. This high-performance, 100% recycled content nylon fiber is allocated from pre-consumer sources which, when used in conjunction with StrataWorx backing, establishes a low embodied carbon footprint. Shaw offsets the remainder of the carbon footprint with the purchase of verified carbon offsets.

New Path is also the first StrataWorx collection offered in a plank format, providing more opportunities for innovation in installation. The collection features four 18 x 36-inch carpet tile styles that utilize biophilic design elements to mimic the natural world. Each style brings a sense of calm and collaboration, working harmoniously with the collection’s other patterns.

Calm and Positive serve as the collection’s foundational styles and are offered in nine neutral colorways. Upbeat and Centered were designed to stand on their own or serve as a transition or accent tile and are offered in nine coordinating neutrals and five colors. The neutral tones help occupants focus on tasks while incorporating color invokes positivity and vibrancy. These styles can be installed next to Shaw Contract’s 2.5mm LVT without a transition strip, meaning installation is more accessible and can reduce labor costs. Coordinating LVT styles include Compound and Cast.

“The inspiration behind New Path was all about moving through space,” West explained. “We wanted to create a dynamic atmosphere, where each piece could breathe and move on its own but also work in harmony.”
