New York—Heritage textile and furnishings brand Kravet has partnered with TileBar to launch an exclusive tile collection. The collaboration translates Kravet’s signature patterns into stone and porcelain.
The partnership extends Kravet’s design language beyond textiles and wallcoverings, giving designers a new way to incorporate recognizable Kravet patterns into residential and commercial interiors.
The inaugural Kravet x TileBar launch, which spans six collections and 34 SKUs, reimagines motifs from Kravet’s archive through micro-mosaics, carved stone and decorative porcelain.
“What excites us most about Kravet’s first foray into tile is seeing how our most beloved patterns—alongside entirely new designs—translate from textile and wallpaper into a whole new world of surfaces and materials,” said Sara Kravet, executive vice president, licensing.
The first chapter of the Kravet x TileBar collaboration uses three distinct techniques: carved stone, hand-placed micro-mosaics and printed porcelain.
A palette of soft whites, metallics and blues gives the collection versatility across residential and commercial settings.
“Our team worked closely with Kravet to study the scale, rhythm and texture of each pattern, then partnered with our expert porcelain and stone producers to identify the techniques that would most faithfully translate those details,” said Eli Mechlovitz, founder of TileBar. “The result is a collection that preserves the character of the original designs while celebrating the natural beauty, texture and dimensionality that only stone and porcelain can provide.”
A tempting palette
Ellsen: This floral-inspired take on the classic star-and-cross motif uses hand-placed marble pieces. Blue Macuba or Calacatta Gold marble transforms a white marble base into a precision-cut waterjet mosaic.
Nautra: Organic lines combine abstract shapes with geometric curves. Premium Bardiglio Gray, Calacatta Gold or Cloud Emerald marble features a tumbled finish. Hundreds of individually placed pieces create a large-scale, mesh-mounted mosaic inspired by natural waves.
Moonwave: A carved botanical motif extends across a large-format surface in Thassos or Calacatta Gold marble. A honed finish highlights the stone’s veining and tonal variation.
Rhodesa: A digitally printed wave pattern delivers tonal depth in blues, grays and light neutrals. Based on a bestselling Kravet wallpaper, Rhodesa uses triple-fired porcelain made in Italy.
Saltveil: Abstract lines, layered color and a subtle metallic shimmer create a textured surface. Based on a bestselling Kravet wallpaper, Saltveil uses triple-fired porcelain made in Italy. The collection is recommended for wall use only.
Elowynn: The collection gives traditional damask patterns a modern update with the look of cement encaustic tile. Made in Spain, the porcelain collection includes four damask patterns across eight colors designed to suit a range of residential and commercial applications.
