Houston—Reader’s Wholesale Distributors is expanding into several new markets as part of one of the largest geographic expansions in its 110-year history.
The fourth-generation, family-owned flooring distributor, ranked among the top 20 flooring wholesalers in the U.S., is extending its reach into North Texas, northern Louisiana, northern Mississippi, Oklahoma, Arkansas, western Tennessee and portions of New Mexico.
To support its growing footprint, Reader’s has established a new distribution facility in Coppell, Texas. The company is also expanding its delivery fleet.
“This is an incredibly exciting time for our company,” said Adam Burke, president and CEO of Reader’s. “We’re making significant investments in facilities, inventory, people and transportation to position Reader’s for the next generation of growth.”
Reader’s has remained under the same family ownership for four generations. The company said its commitment to customer relationships and long-term partnerships continues to guide its growth.
“The fundamentals of being a great distributor haven’t changed,” Burke added. “Customers want consistency, accountability and a partner who values the relationship beyond the next transaction. My great-grandfather started this company more than 110 years ago and I’m incredibly proud that we’re not only thriving, but making one of the largest expansions in our history while staying true to the principles that built this business.”
Exclusive agreements
A key component of the expansion is Reader’s longstanding partnership with Metroflor. The manufacturer has appointed Reader’s as its exclusive distributor for Metroflor-branded products, along with the Artistek American Plank and Provident collections, throughout the new territory. In Oklahoma, distribution will include only the unbranded collections.
Reader’s will also introduce much of its existing hardwood, laminate, SPC and WPC flooring offerings to these markets. The expansion includes installation products from Mapei, Ardex and other suppliers.
