DALTON—Shaw Industries announced it will close Plant 20, a carpet manufacturing facility located on Riverbend Drive here, in the very near future.

Approximately 270 associates will be affected by this closing. Representatives from Shaw’s Central Employment office, along with other Shaw HR professionals, are on site and working to help associates with issues that relate to the plant closing. Shaw expects a number of Plant 20 associate to secure positions at other Shaw facilities in the area in the short term, and will continue to make additional positions available as openings occur. Shaw is working closely with the Georgia Department of Labor’s Rapid Response Unit to identify additional training or other career opportunities for associates that choose to not stay with the company.
