Cartersville, Ga. -– Design is ever-changing. For the seventh consecutive year, the Shaw Contract Group Design Is… Award honors the architects and interior designers that continue to redefine what design is and the impact it has in our lives. Design firms may enter their projects online through February 22, 2013.

The Shaw Contract Group Design Is… Award is a leading competition that asks entrants to define design through the challenges, processes and results of their projects. Entries will be judged by distinguished members of the design community across all market segments. This year, a market award will be introduced to the program. Market winners represent the highest caliber within an industry segment and/or geographic region. The market award winners will move on to the global award program and People’s Choice voting later in the year.

“This year’s addition of the market awards will allow for a broader range of exceptional projects to be recognized,” says John Stephens, vice president of marketing for Shaw Contract Group. “Showcasing these projects will benefit all markets within the commercial interiors industry by recognizing excellence in design beyond beautiful spaces. We will honor projects that achieve both human and business goals in ways that represent the best practices in global design.”

Shaw Contract Group will promote global winners through marketing materials, media outreach and an advertisement campaign in leading A&D publications. In addition, winning firms receive $2,000 to donate to the school or organization of their choice.

Since 2006, Shaw Contract Group had donated over $80,000 through the Design Is… Award to support design education and social responsibility, all in the name of the winning firms. In the last eight years, more than 1,400 entries have been submitted from 25 countries around the world.

Because carpet is only part of the project, the overall design space is considered. All design projects using Shaw Contract Group and Shaw Hospitality Group products completed between Feb. 2011 and Feb.2013 are eligible.
