Tarkett, the worldwide leader in innovative flooring and sports surface solutions, announced Tandus and Centiva are joining forces, leveraging their resources to jointly market and support soft surface and luxury vinyl tile (LVT) solutions in the commercial market.

“The 2012 acquisition of Tandus was completed with the vision of delivering a full portfolio of products and services across soft and hard surface to commercial specifiers and end-users,” said Jeff Buttitta, president of Tarkett North America. ”For several months, I have been working closely with Thomas Trissl, president of Centiva, and Glen Hussmann, president of Tandus, regarding how we capitalize on the substantial strengths of their respective companies. It is an exciting time where we see great opportunity to enhance the experience of all our commercial customers.”

Trissl announced he will leave Centiva effective March 31st. He will remain as president of Centiva until his departure after which Glen Hussmann will serve as president of both Tandus and Centiva. Even after his formal departure, Trissl will continue to work with Tarkett on a variety of strategic initiatives that include accelerated domestic and international growth, sustainability and new product development.

“Thomas’ assistance with a smooth transition of responsibilities and operations within Centiva has been invaluable,” explained Buttitta. “And while he will be leaving the position of president at Centiva, I am looking forward in continuing working with Thomas on a variety of projects and ventures.”

“Over the past two years, Centiva has expanded its product portfolio, further developed its sustainability and operations practices and expanded its production capacity,” stated Trissl, who grew Centiva from a bankrupt manufacturing facility to a nationally recognized brand. “While leaving the day-to-day operations of Centiva is difficult, I believe that with our strategic relationship with Tandus, the opportunities for our customers and people have never been better. I am motivated about the future and I am pleased about continuing to work with Jeff and the Tarkett team.”

“The resources of Tarkett combined with the winning cultures of both Tandus and Centiva create a terrific platform to enhance our customers’ flooring experience,” added Hussmann. “We are at the start of an exciting period of growth.”
