Dalton – On the heels of unveiling a new corporate identity and new CEO Karel Vercruyssen, along with the pending retirement of Ralph Boe, Beaulieu America announced another milestone: its 35th anniversary as a company. Beaulieu began as a small rug weaving business in Dalton in 1978 and grew into a true American success story as one of the top floor covering producers in the world.

“As a company and an industry, we’ve seen a lot and, thanks to the contributions of thousands of hardworking and dedicated Beaulieu associates, we’ve achieved a lot,” observed Carl Bouckaert, one of Beaulieu America’s founders.

“Over the last 35 years, we’ve led the carpet industry in the development of some pretty exciting ideas,” said retiring CEO Ralph Boe. “There are over a dozen firsts Beaulieu can claim that have not only improved the business of carpet, but the quality of life in the American home.”

The innovations Beaulieu America lists include being the first carpet manufacturer to extrude its own olefin fiber; the first to make solution dyed nylon fiber; the first to produce its own primary and secondary backing; the first with an odor reducing treatment (Magic Fresh); the first to co-brand with Invista Stainmaster, and the first to introduce a low dpf solution dyed nylon product line (Bliss Indulgence).
