Lancaster, Pa.—Armstrong is now accepting entries for its third annual i2r (ideas 2 reality) Design Competition offering architects, interior designers and specifiers the opportunity to showcase their creativity with sketches or actual projects using Armstrong Commercial ceilings and floors. Those interested can enter by visiting armstrong.com/i2r between Sept. 9 and Sept. 30.

“For the last two years, we have been surprised, delighted, and amazed by the ideas and actual installations submitted in Armstrong’s i2r Design Competition,” said Julia Pierce, commercial marketing/product design director. “This competition is about pushing the limits of creative patterns, and making spaces come alive. Will this year push the limits even further? I invite all design professionals to take a shot, and enter this year.”

The competition has four categories: Two Idea categories, one for flooring and one for ceilings/walls, and two Reality categories, one for flooring and one for ceilings/walls. A winner will be awarded in each category. For the idea portion of the competition, architects and interior designers can upload sketches or renderings created with Armstrong flooring or ceiling products in mind. The reality portion is where specifiers can upload pictures of completed projects where Armstrong ceiling or flooring products were specified and installed.

Idea winners will be chosen by online popular vote. The contest’s Reality winners will be judged by a panel of professionals from the International Interior Design Association (IIDA).

“We love celebrating creative design and how new product options allow our customers to integrate both form and function into the spaces they create,” said Debra Kereczman, general manger, commercial branding and communications.

Submissions will be judged on the creativity and originality of the design, the use of Armstrong products, and the successful incorporation of other interior products.

Each winner from the four categories will receive a $2,000 cash prize and the i2r trophy.

And here’s an extra bonus: Armstrong will award cash prizes to two entries that demonstrate the best use of multiple product categories in commercial flooring or standard products with custom looks in commercial ceilings and wall systems.

Voting opens Oct. 1 and concludes Oct. 8. To vote, go to Armstrong.com/i2r.
