St. Louis—The National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) has announced that McMinnville Manufacturing Co., a wood flooring manufacturing mill in McMinnville, Tenn., has earned the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) and the Wood Flooring Manufacturers Association (NOFMA) mill certification. McMinnville becomes the 18th active company currently in the NWFA/NOFMA certification program.

“The addition of McMinnville to the roster of NWFA/NOFMA certified mills demonstrates the growing demand for manufacturers to distinguish themselves as producers of quality hardwood flooring products and to have a third-party certification that demonstrates industry standards,” said NWFA president and CEO, Michael Martin.

Established in the late 1800s, McMinnville is one of the country’s oldest manufacturers and ranks in the top one-third in terms of hardwood flooring sales and production.

“Earlier this year, NWFA/NOFMA mill inspectors visited our plant to talk about the mill certification program,” said Donna Millard, director of sales for McMinnville. “While they were here, they conducted a complimentary inspection of our production line and recommended several ways that we could be more efficient and improve our yields. We saw first-hand how the program would benefit us, but most importantly, the NOFMA certification is a guarantee to our customer that we manufacture in accordance with the highest industry standards. We take pride in quality, and our NOFMA certification will now attest to this statement.”

The NWFA/NOFMA certification provides an assurance that the manufacturer’s wood flooring meets or exceeds the industry standards for grade, configuration, moisture content and average board length. Certified mills are inspected a minimum of two times a year to ensure consistent grade standards are met.
