Calhoun, Ga. — At its 2014 Solutions Convention, Mohawk announced the winners of the company’s National Retailer of the Year awards, which recognized the top-performing retailer for both the ColorCenter and Floorscapes aligned retailer programs. America’s Finest Carpet received the top honor within the Floorscapes category while Wayne Wiles Floor Coverings was named ColorCenter Retailer of the Year. Owners Carlos Ledesma and Mark Wiles were recognized before industry leaders and their retailer peers at the prestigious Mohawk aligned retailer gala in Dallas.

“This year, it was an incredibly tough decision to select the winners because we had a very strong field of contenders,” said David Duncan, senior vice president of marketing and sales operations at Mohawk. “However, America’s Finest Carpet and Wayne Wiles Floor Coverings stood out from the competition. These two stores truly set the quality standard for the retail flooring business. Their associates are experts in all aspects of flooring, including product, marketing, service and installation. Both retailers are assets to their communities, and we are proud to include them as part of the Mohawk family.”

Mohawk uses various criteria to identify its Retailers of the Year. Primarily, the company looks for retail stores that are true ambassadors of the Floorscapes and ColorCenter programs and demonstrate an ongoing commitment to training, store standards, brand building, merchandising, installation ideas and community involvement. Mohawk’s National Retailer of the Year winners are selected from the company’s pre-selected regional winners.

America’s Finest Carpet is well-known and well-respected in the Southwest Coastal Region. Ledesma currently owns three stores in Southern California with plans to add three more in the near future.  Having been recognized as a regional winner four times in the past, America’s Finest Carpet is no stranger to success within the Mohawk aligned program. The successful retailer implements both traditional and web-based advertising to drive store traffic, and once consumers are in-store, they are greeted by a well-trained and customer-focused sales team to enhance the consumer’s buying experience. America’s Finest Carpet owner Carlos Ledesma points to his involvement in the FloorScapes program to as a key factor for his continued success.

Wayne Wiles Floor Coverings, located in Fort Myers, Fla., has been in business for 63 years. Wiles is constantly improving and expanding his store’s business operations and is an integral part of his community.  Always ahead of the curve, Wiles recently hired a media manager to extend his store’s reach by enhancing its online presence.

“Mohawk is our go-to source for all our flooring needs and being a ColorCenter makes it easy for us to exceed our customer’s expectations for the highest quality flooring products on the market,” Wiles said. This year marks Wayne Wiles Floor Coverings’ 10th year in the Mohawk aligned program.
