Cartersville, Ga. — Shaw Hospitality Group said it has partnered with renowned architect David Rockwell for a second carpet collection, Natural Curiosities.

Like Layered Luxe, the first collaboration between Rockwell and Shaw Hospitality Group, Natural Curiosities further explores elements found in nature. With this collection, Rockwell drew inspiration from cabinets from the 19th and 20th century, where rich arrays of exotic and colorful specimens were on vivid display. These elements intrigued and inspired in a variety of different patterns; some patterns explore the effect of light and shadow on natural surfaces, while others reflect a more textural and abstract approach.

“Birds and butterflies drew us into the world of the curious,” said Rockwell, president of Rockwell Group. “We playfully interpreted these designs in different scales, patterns and exotic color palettes to bring a high-end residential look to hospitality environments.”

Natural Curiosities is a design catalyst that translates into various manufacturing technologies. Dye-injected print, tufted and CYP (computerized yarn placement) offer high-quality plush aesthetics to accommodate hospitality projects for guest rooms and public spaces.
