The 2019 winner in the interior design category was the project “Waiting room within the platforms of a bus station in Villanueva de la Serena (Badajoz)” by José María Sánchez García.

The nineteenth edition of the Tile of Spain Awards in Architecture, Interior Design and Final Degree Project is kicking off with a call for entries. Entries may be submitted from now until October 23, 2020.

The Tile of Spain Awards are intended to promote the use of Spanish ceramic tiles in architecture as well as interior design projects (both in Spain and abroad).

The awards have a prize fund of 39,000 euros distributed in three categories. The two main categories are Architecture and Interior Design, each with a cash prize of 17,000 euros. The panel of judges are also entitled to give special mentions in either category. The third category is the Final Degree Project, targeting students of architecture, and has a cash prize of 5,000 euros. Entrants from both Spain and abroad are entitled to take part in all three categories.

Winner of the architecture prize at the latest edition of the awards was the project “Santa Creu & Sant Pau Hospital Research Centre (Barcelona)” by PICHarchitects_Pich-Aguilera y 2BMFG Arquitectes. Winner in the interior design category was the project “Waiting room within the platforms of a bus station in Villanueva de la Serena (Badajoz)” by José María Sánchez García.

In previous editions the panel of judges was chaired by prestigious architects. The panel of judges for the XIX edition is yet to be confirmed.

Closing date for entries: October 23, 2020.
Jury’s final decision: November 20, 2020.
