Former Consolidated Carpet partner, Thomas “Bud” Meberg, passed away on March 12, 2021, at Ocean Medical Center in Brick, N.J. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, he was cremated privately on March 15, 2021. His sons are in the process of scheduling a Memorial Service to be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Tenafly, N.J., likely to take place later this spring.

Meberg, who began with the family-owned business in 1963, worked for more than 50 years before retiring in 2016. He was highly respected in the flooring and construction industry in New York City and beyond, ran projects from the size of one office to multiple floors, all with the same attention to detail.

Meberg and his wife, Alice, raised their family in Cresskill, N.J., in the 1970s through the early 2000s. Meberg was predeceased by his first wife, Alice C. Meberg, in 2009 and his second wife, Gertrude Conklin, in 2016. He was a devoted father of Thomas and his wife, Peggy; Peter and his wife, Alicia Sargeant; Mark and his wife, Kristin; and Christopher and his wife, Stephanie. He was a loving grandfather to Tommy, Kevin, Evan, Adam, Ella, Deirdre, Leah, Cole, Audra, Trent, Charlie and Alice.

He is survived by his sisters, Sonja Indahl and Laurene Meberg-Todd, and his brother Arne Meberg. He was predeceased by his oldest brother, Tor J., in 2008 and stepbrother, Robert, in 2019.
