Armstrong Flooring LuteaMountville, Pa.— AHF Products introduced Armstrong Flooring Lutea, a new line of rigid core flooring that is said to encapsulate both beauty and performance.

“Lutea is a flooring innovation utilizing technologies that increase aesthetic and performance attributes,” said Yon Hinkle, vice president product management-resilient, AHF Products. “The sturdy planks are completely waterproof and the designs are colors and textures found in nature.”

Lutea is inspired by the design style Japandi, which blends aspects of Japanese and Scandinavian interiors to create soothing, serene spaces. “The aim of Japandi is to create Zen-like spaces that blur the lines between home and nature with a subtle mixture of clean lines and natural looking materials,” said Katie Gliuibizzi, senior designer. “You won’t find vibrant pops of color in Japandi spaces—instead, look for earthy tones and a lot of natural light to further blend home and nature.”

According to Gliuibizzi, one of the hallmarks of this design style is to bring together the pale, neutral tones that tend to be favored in Nordic interiors with the darker, richer shades of Japanese design. “Soothing neutrals have been trending on the West Coast and now have evolved into the rest of the country. At the same time, beautiful, rich warm browns offer a feeling of warmth and calm to spaces.”

Ranging from light and airy to dark and earthy wood looks, Armstrong Flooring Lutea’s two collections—Paradise and Zen—provide retailers with the look of affordable luxury for buyers. The 100% waterproof planks are available in a range of wood looks: birch, hickory, oak and pine. Paradise features a 20-mil wearlayer and 11 high-end designs and wide widths. Zen is a 12-mil wear layer floor that offers nine design-forward looks in popular widths.

Ideal for residential and multi-family use, Lutea features a reinforced core to provide enhanced dimensional stability, making it incredibly dent resistant and an ideal choice for three season rooms or for use in direct sunlight. Lutea’s strength will stand up to the chaos of pets, kids and the hustle and bustle of a busy home. Paradise offers a Lifetime Limited Warranty for Residential Use and a 10 Year Limited Warranty for Light Commercial Use; and Zen a 35-Year Limited Warranty for Residential Use. All feature an attached pad and easy locking install.

“It’s a gorgeous, absolutely stunning line,” Hinkle said. “It is not a value SPC, and it is not a high-end line—although it’s highly styled. We’re also offering a multitude of versatile display configurations. Retailers will have the option to carry the full line in a large-format display or select an abbreviated line.

Hinkle added that the Armstrong Flooring brand is vital to the company’s distributors, retailers and flooring contractors and it is a name consumers know and trust. “AHF Products is on a course to reenergize the Armstrong Flooring brand by blending its heritage with a forward focus on innovation, great new products and an ear to the customer.”
